Girls’ Generation and the Dangerous Boys

Girls’ Generation and the Dangerous Boys
Girls' Generation and the Dangerous Boys (Hangul: 소녀시대와 위험한 소년들; Hanja: 少女時代和危險少年) is a 2011 South Korean variety television programme, starring nine-member girl group Girls' Generation. It was broadcast on jTBC from 18 December 2011 to 4 March 2012 on Sundays at 19:30.

Background
On 22 November 2011, JTBC announced that Girls’ Generation will be leading in the weekend variety programme, titled ‘Girls’ Generation and the Dangerous Boys’, where they will act as mentors for teenage boys. In this program, Girls’ Generation members will transform into mentors for juvenile teenage boys.

JTBC said, “As Girls’ Generation are promoting "The Boys" in their busy schedule, they took up the challenge of being mentors for the first time in their lives. This is expected to become a hot topic. This program is especially meaningful as Girls' Generation has prepared opportunities for teenage boys to start anew. While approaching them with sincere attitude, Girls’ Generation is going to present another side of them.”

It is produced by Yoon Hyun-jun, who went on to work on another JTBC programme, Shinhwa Broadcast.

In January during episode 7, Hwang Yong-hyun left the dormitory and show. However, he returned in February at episode 9 to support the others during their guerrilla concert. His mentors, Yoona and Hyoyeon, would go on to help the remaining four.

In March 2012, a short behind-the-scenes of the filming was been released and fans have been voicing their admiration for Girls’ Generation’s serious attitude towards this program even though it is a reality show.

The show entitled “Right Now, It's Girls’ Generation” provides exclusive footage of the group's various routines from the time of their debut to the present. The show focuses around the “key to Girls’ Generation’s popularity” and also consists of interviews with Girls’ Generation super fans and their friends. The show is narrated by a male character who is an obsessive fan of the group, as well as his girlfriend who disapproves of the group (although later turns into a fan as well). SNSD - Family Outing 2

SNSD - Family Outing 2
Family Outing Season 2 (Hangul: 패밀리가 떴다2) (literally Family's Here 2) was a South Korean variety show; a part of SBS's Good Sunday lineup, along with Gold Miss is Coming (골드미스가 간다). It was first aired on February 21, 2010, following the end of the first season. In early episodes, a "Family Leader" [nb 1] is chosen and acts as the main host of that outing. That role has been abolished. The "Family" travels to rural parts of South Korea and helps out in the village they are staying in. The shows predecessor, Family Outing Season 1, featured a similar format, but ended because of the main host leaving and ratings dropping. This season differs from its predecessor with more focus on reality and the family aspect, and less on chores and games. This season ended on July 11, 2010 due to low ratings and was replaced with Running Man.

Synopsis
This show is filmed over two days and one night, airing over two episodes. Episodes vary and do not always follow the same format.

The "Family Leader", who makes all decisions for the Family for that episode, is chosen through a vote. The family then heads to their destination. Candid interviews of the members air throughout the episode, discussing their feelings of something that just aired. The "Family Leader" also begins to make every decision deciding the Family's fate. The Family arrives at their house(s) and begins that days agenda. A challenge is presented for the Family Leader as to whether they live in a nice house or the house that is falling apart. They settle into their new home and then take part in outdoor activities and games. There is no official main host, Kim Won-hee acts as a moderator during games. The Family then returns inside to prepare dinner. The Family Leader will need to go through a challenge and if he/she succeeds, he/she will have the better dinner available. If he/she fails, the family will eat the unfilling dinner. Late into the night, the Family prepares for bed. The next morning, the "Wake-Up Mission" is takes place. Easier tasks are given to those who come out earliest and ascend to harder tasks for those who come out last. The Family is then waken up by loud techno music and flashing lights. The music continues playing as they participate in a morning exercise, followed by the "Wake-Up Mission". The mission involves finding food for breakfast and then preparing it afterwards. After breakfast, the Family completes a favor asked by the village headman. A preview of next week's episode is shown at the end of the each episode.

Cast
The members of the second "Family" are Kim Won-hee, Yoon Sang-hyun, Shin Bong-sun, Ji Sang-ryul, Yoona of Girls' Generation, Jo Kwon of 2AM, Taecyeon of 2PM and Kim Hee-chul of Super Junior.[5][6] Jang Dong-min was added along with Kim Hee-chul during a recording on May 18, 2010. Kim Hee-chul is the eighth member of the Family,[7] and Jang Dong-min is considered a fixed-guest.

Critical reception

Season 2 received mostly negative reviews from TV critics and viewers who criticized the changes made on the format of the show, the casting choice and the fact that the show became too idol-oriented with most of the airtime and attention being given to the idol group members of the cast. Viewers also complained about Season 2 being too boring and for focusing too much on the forced love-lines between SNSD's member Yoona and 2PM's member Taecyeon. Viewers complained that the love-lines are heavily scripted and doesn't suit the 'family' concept of the show. There was much comparison between Season 1 and 2, with viewers commenting that the first season was much more humorous and natural.

SNSD - Show! Music Core

SNSD - Show! Music Core
Show! Music Core (Hangul: 쇼! 음악중심; Hanja: 音樂中心; Syo! Eum-ak Joong-sim) is a South Korean music television program broadcast by MBC. It airs live every Saturday at 4:00PM-KST. The show features some of the latest and most popular artists who perform live on stage. It is currently hosted by Tiffany, Taeyeon and Seohyun of Girls' Generation.

History
The first similar music program that aired on MBC was Show Network (쇼 네트워크) in 1989, which at the time was the first music program to feature charts. It was replaced in 1991 by Everyone's Popular Songs (여러분의 인기가요), which was replaced by Choice Best Popular Songs (결정 최고 인기가요) in 1993, which was replaced by Popular Songs Best 50 (인기가요 베스트 50), which was then replaced by Live Young Times (생방송 젊은 그대) in 1998. That program was quickly replaced by the familiar Music Camp (음악캠프), which aired from April 25, 1998 to January 23, 1999, and was replaced by a short-lived Family Camp (가족캠프), but was revived on May 8, 1999 as Live Music Camp (생방송 음악캠프) which aired until July 30, 2005 and was cancelled due to a broadcast accident of revealing genitalia.
After a brief hiatus, Show! Music Core began airing on October 29, 2005 with charts similar to its predecessors. However, the charts were removed on January 7, 2006 and continues to air without any charts or awards. From 2007 to 2008, a Mobile Ranking segment was used to rank the popularity of songs downloaded to mobile phones and from online music sites.
